超先鋭的映像クリエーター集団—STUDIO4℃
常に挑戦的な企画に取り組み、ハイクオリティかつエッジのきいた映像作品を創り出してきたクリエイティブ集団STUDIO4℃。 「EXTRA」/ケン・イシイや「サバイバル」/GLAYなどのミュージック・クリップや、「音響生命体ノイズマン」「永久家族」などの短編（以上監督森本晃司）、TV、CMやプロモーション映像、ゲーム内ムービーなどを多数制作。 劇場作品として「MEMORIES」（監督 大友克洋）（'95）、「SPRIGUN」（監督川崎博嗣）（'98）、「アリーテ姫」（監督片渕須直）（'01）、2003年には映画「マトリックス」のサイドストーリー「アニマトリックス」でジャパニメーションのクオリティの高さを世界に見せつけた。 2004年夏には斬新かつ意欲的な劇場作品「マインド・ゲーム」（監督 湯浅政明）を公開し、文化庁メディア芸術祭大賞、毎日映画コンクール大藤信郎賞を受賞。 さらに2007年お正月ロードショーの「鉄コン筋クリート」（監督マイケル・アリアス）はアニメ映画史上に残るスマッシュヒットを樹立。 ベルリン映画祭等、国際映画祭で絶賛され、広く世界にその名を知られることとなった。 今や日本のクリエイションを牽引するSTUDIO4℃がその設立ポリシーを具現化させた入魂の一作。それが「Genius Party」なのだ。
Visual creator group STUDIO4℃ has constantly coped with challenging projects and created high quality visual works with an edge. STUDIO 4℃ has produced such music clips as “EXTRA / Ken Ishii" and “SURVIVAL / GLAY" and short films (directed y Koji Morimoto) as “SONIC LIFEFORM NOISEMAN" AND “ETERNAL FAMILY" as well as an array of TV and CM promotional visual footage, movies in games. As for theatrical releases, STUDIO4℃ has produced “MEMORIES" ('95, dir. Katsuhiro Ohtomo), “Sprigun" ('98, dir. Hirotsugu Kawasaki), “Princess Areete"('01, dir. Sunao Katabuchi) and, in 2003, “Matrix"'s sidestory, “Animatrix" to show the world the high quality of Japanimation. In 2004, STUDIO4℃ released the unconventional and ambitious “Mind Game" (dir. Masaaki Yuasa), and garnered in the Cultural Agency Fine Arts Grand Prix, Mainichi Film Concour Ofuji Noburo Award. Furthermore, “Tekkon Kinkreet" (dir. Michael Arias), released in the 2007 New Year season, has become the greatest smash hit in the history of animation. Receiving rave reviews at international film festivals, such as Berlin, this film has become world famous. For STUDIO4℃, leading the creation scene in Japan, “Genius Party" is a perfect example of materializing the policy it proclaimed when it was established.
